Years in Review
The University Honors Program is a program dedicated to developing students into Global Citizen Scholars. As part of the effort to foster and facilitate this development, the program places a special emphasis on reflection. Throughout the Honors Seminars and experiential learning opportunities that students take advantage of, reflection is a mainstay. This is in part because of the immense benefit that comes from taking the time to reflect actively on the experiences that we have as we continue to develop an understanding of how they shape our perceptions of the world, the passions that we have, and how we see ourselves.
As part of this broader commitment to reflection, the University Honors Program encourages students to holistically reflect on each year spent at the University of Cincinnati through an annual publication of the "Year in Review". Further guidelines for this yearly reflection can be found at right, but the crux of the effort is that it serves both as a means for students to develop a deeper level of meaning from their year and as a way to catalog and track their progress and development as students and leaders throughout their time at the University of Cincinnati. By identifying key, influential experiences and areas of development each year, students are able to see how they've grown. By further reflecting on the impact of those experiences, students are also able to see how they might grow in the future. Please take a look at my "Year in Review" reflections for the three years that I was an undergraduate student to see how I have developed in my time as a Bearcat. |
